WIIE is contributing to a project supported by the Ouranos–MELCCFP QClim’Eau Program to model groundwater recharge and river low flows under climate change.
The research combines historical observations, hydrogeological information, and climate projections in a physics-informed graph neural network. The framework will represent connections among climate, groundwater systems, watersheds, and river networks while respecting fundamental hydrological principles.
Led by Rahim Barzegar at UQAT, with Éric Rosa, Vincent Cloutier, and Jan Adamowski as co-principal investigators, the project will support climate-adaptation planning and sustainable water-resource management in Québec.
