A CentrEau Seed Fund project brings together UQAT and McGill University to investigate how meteorological and hydrological anomalies develop into groundwater drought.
The project is led by Jan Adamowski, with Rahim Barzegar as co-principal investigator. Interpretable deep-learning models will help examine drought onset, propagation, duration, severity, and recovery across different hydrogeological settings.
Climate projections will be used to assess how groundwater-drought risks may evolve under future conditions.
